March Madness

Hello

I don't really know what to say besides that I went on another trip as March break came around. I can't believe its already this far into the year. Within a month everyone will be moving out and gone and I have to find a place to live. No clue whats going to happen there but choosing to ignore my problems until they become bigger problems. Don't take that advice but thats just the way we are choosing to move foward woop.

I did get the chance to go Amsterdam. That was pretty sick. The plane ride was less then satisfactory but we didn't die so thats always a bonus. I had everything prepared for when I landed, they use this app there that you can just imput your location and your destination and it tells you how many trains, metros, trams or buses you have to take to get there. Now, I had everything ready and knew that after leaving the airport, it would be a 45min trip to get to my hostel. How funny is it that it took me 2h and 30min to get there. How funny. So funny. Phone was dying, losing signal, kept going the wrong way. Couldn't figure out the difference between metro and train until finally, I was just walking around and I saw the hostel in the distance. Thank goodness. You can't blame me, not when every single sign only has words like Bjhorniovor or Heemstedestraat. One of those is a real place, I'll let you decide which one it is.

I have to say, I didn't really do much in Amsterdam. It was just such a chill place with nice people that all you really can do is walk around and go into random shops. So thats what I did. Found a chocolote shop with the best choco ever. Amsterdam is certainly a food experiance. Everything was just so amazing, even the hostel food was incredible. I had dutch pancakes, the best hot choco ever as well and I waited in line for an hour for this grilled egg and avacado bread thing. It was called chun. 10/10. I cannot express how much that was worth it.

I went to a the 'believe it or not' museum where this guy pretty much found a whole bunch of weird things in his life and put them in a building. There were crown replicas, the jaw of a megladon and whole bunch of other things, i just have them in videos so can't post here woops. The last place I visited was of course the red light district. I went during the day so there weren't many people 'working' there. Interesting culture to say the least but again, good people.

People were really great here and 90% spoke english so I had no issue getting around (once I figuered out the train app) I managed to get another tattoo, really starting to like this trend of getting one whereever I go. It's like I know I could never regret it because these are places I am going and visiting and my souvenir is proof on my skin forever. Fricken cool. I mean, I like it. Sorry Grandma.

I am seem to not be able to win on getting home tho............ Plane got delayed for 2 hours because something military was happening over the London airpace. And they couldn't let us off the plane either because the pilot was waiting for the green light and then 'we gotta go'. so we had a tiny gap to fly back to edinburgh. I just laughed. Couldn't stop. Didn't care. Got home later of course because of the delay but still got home. That's about it.

Few things happening in school, had to do a visa check, waited in line for over an hour for a less then 3min convo with the immigration office. Same thing that happened in Edmonton when I had to get my visa. 4 hour journey, less then 10min meeting. Gah sometimes these things could be done so much better then they are but that is the struggles of a int student. Poor me. I'm kidding.

ST PATTY'S DAY. WOW. Now that was amazing. I cannot. We made Borgs, taught the Scots what those are. Started our party at 3, left for the pubs at 8 and hit the club for 12. I went out with Irish people. I cannot stress how amazing that was. They were so amazing. And best story came out of it. We were sitting in Spoons, a large open pub here, and from behind me I hear 'top of the mornin' to ya' so natually we turn out and repeat it back and its this group of guys and 1 girl. Now the girl looks at me with this knowing look and asks if I work at the jail, which I do. I remebered her from the day before when she came in with her and her fiance. She could not stress just how much she enjoyed the jail and the show and offered to buy myself and the irish a drink. Which was so so so kind but we did politely turn it down. Well, bout 5min later they handed us shots. Then it was more shots. And more.... Then we invited them to our table and next thing we knew we convinced them to go to Fubar (Club). What a time. We lost them shortly after entering tho woops but the music was fire. So much irish tunes my personal fav is 'tell me ma' which was followed by 'country roads' its just amazing when everyone is screaming it at the top of their lungs. I love the irish. They really are top tier.

Managed to get into the next promotional video for work so looking forward to that. Woop. Went Latin dancing with the Int society. Woop. And just, vibed. That's what we doing. Vibing. Because we are ignoring our stresses. Just like how we are ignoring my prof as he teaching the entire time I am writing this. Univeristy is fun I do highly recommend. My bday is coming up, super looking foward to that. The flat is taking me to Glasgow for a dinner and then for clubbing so I cannot wait. Clubbing in Glasgow is something else, I haven't done it yet but listening to the stories it ranges from 'We made friends' to 'we lost micheal and found him in a bush with 37 stab wounds but he managed to walk it off until the mob found him and held him for ransom for 24h which we ended not paying because they just let him go cause apparently he talked too much... and then we got the train back.'

I love it here.
